Inaugural Skills Development Summit
The Wholesale and Retail Inaugural Skills Development Summit will enable the W&RSETA to lead conversations that will influence the trajectory of education and training in the sector.
The National Skills Development Plan (NSDP) 2030 is in its third year of implementation following its launch in 2020 replacing the 20-year National Skills Development Strategy. Subsequently, the W&RSETA has developed a five-year Strategic Plan to respond to the goals and objectives of the NSDP in the three-year period up to 2023 and the summit is an ideal platform for the W&RSETA’s stakeholders and partners to engage on the implementation NSDP. The Wholesale and Retail Skills Development Summit will focus on a review of the sector’s contribution to the NSDP and engage on the response to the evolving skills needs of the sector.
The summit will provide an opportunity to highlight these successes and engage stakeholders on challenges as well as future opportunities.
Decision-makers and role players from the Wholesale and Retail Sector, government, institutions of learning, and other partners will convene for the Wholesale and Retail Inaugural Skills Development Summit to engage on their collective role in advancing the aspirations of the National Skills Development Plan 2030. The summit also creates a platform for the W&RSETA and its stakeholders to showcase innovative programmes and outline contributions towards achieving the goals and objectives of the NSDP since its inception in March 2020. Stakeholders will also deliberate and agree on priorities and interventions required to enhance the contribution towards the NSDP going forward.
